TCU REMAPPING
WHAT IS TCU REMAPPING?
TCU remapping, also known as Transmission Control Unit remapping, is a process similar to ECU tuning but specifically focused on optimizing the performance of the vehicle's transmission system. While the ECU controls the engine's operation, the TCU manages gear shifting, torque converter lockup, and other transmission-related functions. Though for the average driver this is not required as modern automatic transmissions/gearboxes are optimised for smooth and economical drives. TCU Remaps are not obligatory though they are recommended with ECU Remaps as they maximise the experience by:
- Improving shift times
- Improving paddle response
- Improving rev matching
- Provide true manual experience
